Feature and Follow!

This is a weekly feature that allows bloggers to meet others and collect followers! I thought this would be perfect since I'm brand new, and trying to find ways to get my name out there! To enter just click the picture and it'll take you to the instructions.

Q: What New Years Blogging or Writing resolution have you placed on yourself?

Since I'm still brand new to the blogging world, I have big plans for 2013!

My first is to get as many followers as I can! Honestly, what's the point of making this blog, if no one reads it ever. I don't have a set number in mind as of right now... I just want to have people reading my words. I'd especially love if my followers aren't simply names for me to look at. I'd like to create a community type feel here with open conversation about the books and ideas. I like to socialize, so I'm sadly hoping all of you bloggers with become my blogger BFF to put it dorkily.

My second goal would be to write amazing reviews! I've been looking at all sorts of reviews since I got on here. I want to make sure I write reviews that are 1. worth reading since I'm trying to help you find a great  book and 2. not a million pages long. Something I'm guilty of... I tend to go off on tangents. So yes, I'd really like to give worthwhile reviews of books.

Finally, I want to find someone who is amazing at making layouts (I know enough html to get by... but eventually I'm useless) and I want to get a great layout for my blog! I love my owls... I have an odd obsession with owls, but I want a lyout that belongs to me alone.

Waiting on Wednesday

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating. First I'll talk about my YA pick, the second will be a romance pick!

Me, Him, Them, and It by Caela Carter

"When Evelyn decided to piss off her parents with a bad reputation, she wasn't planning to ruin her valedictorian status. She also wasn't planning to fall for Todd-the guy she was just using for sex. And she definitely wasn't planning on getting pregnant. When Todd turns his back on her, Evelyn's not sure where to go. Can a distant mother, a cheating father, an angry best friend, and a (thankfully) loving aunt with adopted daughters of her own help Evelyn make the heart-wrenching decisions that follow?"

I know YA books tend to display teen pregnancy in all the wrong ways... but this one has really great reviews from people who were able to read the ARC!

I'm completely guilty of being on the 16 and Pregnant bandwagon. I love that show. Oddly though, I don't Like Teen Mom 1,2, 2000 or whatever number they are up to now. I just like the time when the girl is pregnant with a baby... and has no idea what she's in for. My boyfriend, hates this show. It really makes me smile because he yells at the baby daddy's like there is no tomorrow... good to know he knows to take care of a girl.

Enough about my tv show rant. As you can see this book is right up my alley! I'm hoping it's as great as I've heard... because I can guarantee this will be a must read! This one comes out in just a month on February 5, 2013!

Sand Castle Bay by Sherryl Woods

In a trade-off she's lived to regret, Emily Castle left home years ago to become an interior designer. The youngest of three sisters, Emily desperately wanted to prove herself. Success, though, came at the cost of leaving behind the man she loved.
For Boone Dorsett, losing Emily left his heart shattered, but another woman was waiting in the wings. Now a widower with a young son, Boone has a second chance with Emily when a storm brings her home. But with his former in-laws threatening a custody suit, the stakes of loving her are higher than ever.
Will fate once again separate them-or is the time finally right for these two star-crossed lovers?

I loved Sherryl Woods Chesapeake Shores series. It was one of the first books I read on my brand new nook a few years ago. So I was ecstatic when I found out she has a new series coming out this year!! Her books are always like a warm bath! They're full of happy sweet feelings, and I just know that when I finish the book I will think happy thoughts about the world. At least for a few days. Plus, I just love that cover!! It's such a happy cover! Simple photography I know, but it works. I love books with covers of the outdoors instead of people. I like landscape and nature photography, so I figure it comes with the territory.

This one will be in stores everywhere on March 26, 2013!

Top Ten Books to read in 2013

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted weekly by The broke and the Bookish! This weeks theme is top ten books I resolve to read in 2013! This is going to be a hard one for me... I have over 2000 books on my TBR list... and more coming out all the time. So here are some books I'm most excited about this coming year!

  1. It Had to Be You by Jill Shalvis - I love this series! I have read every other book in this series, so I can't wait for the new installments to come out this summer!
  2. The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay - I've heard amazing things about this one, so I can't wait to find a time to read it!
  3. Moloka'i by Alan Brennert - This one goes with my resolve to read more grown up literature picks this year. I've had this book since it came out, and it's still sitting there unread! I need to read it like now!
  4. City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare - I loved the first three in this series, so I have no idea as to why the rest of her books remain unread, but I plan to find time to finish them this year!
  5. Moonlight Road by Robyn Carr - Actually, I plan to finish this entire series. It's a long one, but I love these books. This is number 11, so only 10ish more to go!
  6. Everbound by Brodi Ashton - I loved loved loved loved Everneath which I finally read last week... So I cannot wait to get my hands on this one!
  7. Lover Revealed by J.R. Ward - This is another series I plan to finish this year, or catch up on. I think this year will be all about catching up on the 80something series I have going right now...
  8. Frostbite by Richelle Mead - I loved the first book in this series!! Then I just never picked up the second one! This year I plan to though and i'm excied to do so!
  9. Forever by Maggie Stiefvater - I will finish this trilogy this year! I will I will I will!
  10. Chosen at Nightfall by C.C. Hunter - I cannot wait for this book to come out. I love this series!! I'm sad to see it end, but I really want to know what happens now!
I also have to say that since it is officially 2013 now (HAPPY NEW YEAR) I am officially actually launching  this blog. I'll start posting reviews and such very soon! I'm excited to see where this blog takes me!
